HAE Australasia was represented at the ASCIA Conference held in Melbourne by board members Louise and Anne. The ASCIA 2014 Annual Conference, ran from Wednesday 10th to Saturday 13th September. The conference program featured presentations by speakers from the USA, UK and Australasia on a range of topics pertinent to allergy and other immune diseases. It also included the ASCIA 2014 Allergy and Immunology Update for nurses, dietitians and other health professionals and the ASCIA 2014 Immunopathology Update.

We hosted an exhibition booth, and our aim in attending is to spread the word about Hereditary Angioedema and HAE Australasia. This is the fourth ASCIA Conference our group has attended and we are pleased that all the medical professionals we met, unlike in previous years, had heard of HAE and our Patient Group. It was great to have an opportunity to speak with treating physicians from all over Australia and New Zealand. We reiterated our goals of HAE… Hope, Advocacy and Education. We took the opportunity to call for new members and to review our achievements over the last three years. We promoted our Annual Patient Meetings, see you May 16th 2015 in Sydney! and discussed our local Meet Ups. There was much support for our aim to set up a Patient Registry.

It was a great event and Lou and I were proud to represent the HAE Australasia Patients
